The Head of ULOUK Humanitarian Wing/Committee-Stepped down.

The head of ULOUK Humanitarian committee Pastor Akoi Massayan Bazzie has stepped down from his position as head of ULOUK Humanitarian Committee. Pastor Bazzie stepped down on the 26 of February 2022. In a letter sent to the President of ULOUK, Mr Mo Sonnie and a copy of which was sent to the Secretariat of this organisation, pastor Bazzie expressed great sentiment and gratitude to the leadership of ULOUK for granting him the opportunity to serve his community and people but on the sad note, he said ‘I have to step down to attend to personal and family matters. His resignation letter was received by the leadership with mixed emotions cognisant of his brilliance and expertise, and the hard work he brought to the organisation, especially the Humaniratin committee in a short space of time. His letter has since been accepted by the leadership while UKOUK seeks for his replacement.

The Annual General Meeting(AGM) -2022

This year’s AGM will be held in Manchester on the 23rd of April 2022. The leadership after some constraints, had to move our traditional end of March AGM meeting to April 2022. The venue has since been chosen as The Community Building situated in Stretford ManchesterAGM Room M32 0AD

The meeting will be conducted in two separate parts, hence the AGM will resume 2 pm -3:30 pm, followed by the palava Hut engagement from 4 pm – 7 pm which is intended to hear from the citizens of Liberia residing in Manchester.

PALAVA HUT MEETING- COVENTRY/UK, NOVEMBER 20 2021

The logic behind hosting PALAVA HUT meetings in the UK is simple, but its implementations require lots of effort and commitments, and with the Covid 19 thwarting our efforts since the first event in Sheffield, November 23 2019, we can only hold our breath for it to continue without further setbacks. The Coventry palava hut meeting was indeed a successful one, attended by like-minded Liberians from every corner of the UK to convey a message to The Union of Liberian Organisations in the UK(ULOUK) and its leadership on issues captivating human welfare in the UK and Liberia. The leadership of the Union hereby echoing congratulations and many thanks to the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia accredited to the Court of St. James who sent three representatives for the gathering, the people of Coventry and all well-wishers who converged of the city of Coventry for such a unique gathering.

President Mo Sonnie and his team of cohort Successful Palava Hut(PH) meeting- Conventry/UKincluding the AGM Chair, Zinnah Darkinah, Vice President Klade Neufville, Secretary-General Roland Kesselly Ballah among others were at the meeting. It is with overwhelming hope and indeed expectation that the leadership will continue to host these events in different communities within the UK to enable us to hear from Liberians residing in the UK to express what is needed to help move our community to another peak, and how we all could work together in a minimal or otherwise to help our citizens back home in Liberia. The meeting was indeed very fruitful and congratulations to Mr Henry David and family and the entire organisers of the event. The food was very yummy 🙂

The union of Liberian organisations in the UK,(ulouk) hosted the launching event of ULOUK Humanitarian wing(UHW) on the 5th of December, 2020 in the presence of some euphoria and celebrated members of our community.

ULOUK HUMANITARIAN WING (UHW) & LAUNCHING

On the 5th of December 2020, the Union of Liberian Organisattions in the UK (ULOUK) launched it’s Humanitarian Wing (UHW). The program was held virually on zoom  hosted by the Management Comittee of the organisation. We are indeed very happy to inform our members in the UK and elsewhere that the event launching was very successful, it was attended by guest speaker Dr. Harry Tenumu Conway Alternate Permanent Representative Liberian Permanent Mission the International Maritime Organisation, Ambassador  Gurly T. Bibson Schwarz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, accredited to St James Court, Fitzroy Square-London, former Secretary General of ULOUK Dr. Fidel Budy now advisor to UHW, Mr Prince Taylor, Mr Victor Vital Andrews distinguished and promenant members of our Noble community, special guests from the McDaan Ltd,  Bhoke among others attended the ceremony. We as Management Committee members and the entire team were flodded with admiration, warm approval for the enormous hard work carried out since our endorsement as officers for the organisation.

On the other hand, the forum and the executive committee members listened to the views raised by participants on the tenure of the leadership of UHW which we as a committee believe, could address in due course.
